Sugared suppositions

things I wish I had

Ask

The world is too full of dickheads.

Color guard. I don’t even.

Things that are true:

  • Being captain does not beget that much power. It’s like being principal of a high school; if you’re stupid or a little kid, it looks like they’ve got a lot of power when they’re really near-powerless figureheads.
  • Correcting those that are older than you is not cool. Period.
  • Actually performing well as a color guard is more important than meaningless power struggles.

UGH WHY

I want your Monday mornings,
your weak from the weekend
stumbles around the house,
your groggy eyes and messy hair,
your stale kisses on my mouth.

I want your weekday afternoons,
your frustrated rambles and
hands in my hair. I want your
long sighs and your body
on the couch next to mine.
